When working on this assignment, I drew a lot of inspiration from the crowns below. I liked the simplicity and placement of the gems on the left crown. I liked the outward point and pearls on the right crown.
I like how the paint doesn’t look flat and how the designs of the base crown play into the final design. I also really like the pearls that I found.
I am not super pleased with how the crown looks overall. I think it would have been nicer if I had made molds for the channels, so the hot melt glue would look less sloppy.
If I were to do this again, I would not have pulled the crown apart. I also would have gone with a more complicated design and made the gems look more inlayed. I would have probably also painted over them to make them look less plastic.
